Note: THIS IS A DIGITAL VERSION OF THE FAMILY STUDY.

We remind our kids Jesus is the reason for the season, but do our schedules tell a different story? Not this year. This year, we will back up our words as we develop new habits that draw us closer to Jesus. Together, we will discover how simple yet significant family discipleship can be in your home.

We will start at the very beginning of this story—when God created light! Then, we will discover why God's creation needed a Savior in the first place. We will hear from prophets who told the world about God's rescue plan, and discover that God was faithful even when His people were not. We will learn from Mary, Joseph, shepherds, wise men, and kings to learn how God made a way to bring light into the dark, to bring hope to the hopeless.

This story is for everyone in your family. This story is FOR ALL—the greatest gift we can receive and share this Christmas.

Sharing this story with your kids doesn't require you to be a Bible scholar or dynamic teacher. All you need is a little effort and faith that God is already at work in you and your family.

THIS STUDY WILL HELP YOU:

  • Build curiosity about God’s Word with daily fun facts.
  • Share the story with 23 interactive lessons that are packed with Scripture.
  • Guide your family in weekly candle lightings. (And explain why use candles at all!)
  • Discover how everyday situations can be opportunities to reinforce what God is teaching your family.
  • Understand and use Advent Candle Lighting as a family.
  • Corresponding Studies for Women, Men, and Teens.

This study is written for families with elementary school aged kids in mind. However, many of our families have preschool-aged kids and teenage kids doing it too! We share this study to help you see that the point isn't in the content we provide—but to pass along the tools needed to give you confidence in the discipling of your kiddos. Many families with younger kids are doing this to basically work out the kinks of family devo time before their kids are older and actually understand what they are saying (ha!). Oftentimes families with older kids ask the big kids to contribute tby either reading the story, or running the activity, or leading discussion time. Again, this is your family and you know them best. We try to give you as many tools to pick and choose from as you assess the needs of your family.

As always, 10% of our profits go to print studies for women in prison.
